Farms and estates
Homes, industrial buildings and machinery far from the grid.
Off-grid systems
Farms, pumping stations, construction sites and remote installations that depend on a generator set running at low load. A BK microgrid with solar PV and a battery in island mode supplies the energy; the generator only starts when needed.
The problem
Where the grid does not reach, or is weak, the usual answer is diesel. It works, but it is expensive and you notice it every month.
BK commercial estimate, for guidance only.
How a BK BESS solves it
A bidirectional inverter in island mode sets voltage and frequency; PV recharges the battery during the day and BK EMS decides when to start the generator.
The BK inverter forms the grid with no external connection and supplies all loads.
Solar PV covers the load during the day and recharges the battery for the night.
If the battery drops below its reserve or a peak arrives that it cannot cover, the generator starts, runs at a good load, recharges the battery and stops.
BK EMS logs production, consumption, state of charge and alarms, and alerts our control centre.
Illustrative layout. BK EMS starts the generator only when the battery reserve falls below the minimum, runs it at an efficient load and stops it as soon as the sun covers the load again.
Where we install it
Homes, industrial buildings and machinery far from the grid.
Wells and irrigation powered by stored solar energy.
The battery absorbs the peaks; the generator only runs when it makes sense.
Temporary or permanent supply where the grid connection doesn't reach or is weak.
Recommended products
The BK112H (112 kWh / 50 kW, with a 100 kW PV input) is ready for off-grid operation. For more energy, BK215 to BK418.
